Info & Fanpage for Buddy Kaz

I work alone.”

— Buddy Kaz

Buddy Kasdan, known to most of the Legion fans as Buddy Kaz, has served as the show technician and stage manager since the inception of the Retro Legion. Anyone who has attended these shows has likely witnessed firsthand the extraordinary effort and ingenuity Buddy Kaz brings to the stage, and that his work is a performance all its own. Originally from Atyrau, Kazakhstan, on the northern shore of the Caspian Sea--Buddy and his younger brother (manager Victor Kasdan), immigrated to Holland as teenagers and have thrived in the Dutch music scene.

His trademark phrase Ik werk aleen ('I work alone') will soon be available on t-shirts under the Store tab.

Documentary filmmaker Maartje Bruyn has begun work on a film about Buddy Kaz and his one-man technical shows will be explored from start to finish--including behind-the-scenes views into how Buddy Kaz erects the scaffolding and completes the stage work, from unloading the equipment vehicle to driving home after the show. Remember to come early to the shows, too--or you'll miss the performance by Buddy Kaz. Remember: Don't open a door to help him or offer him a hand, because--Ik werk aleen
